Locations:

Jaipur is a jewel of Indian heritage. As part of the Golden Triangle of tourism in India, it is one of the most visited and photographed cities in the world. Famous sites like The Wind Palace, Amber Fort, City Palace and Jantar Mantar keep tourists glued to this astonishing city. Jaipur accommodation is ideal for participants attending the volunteer programs and for travelers who wish to enjoy the riches of Rajasthan.

Day by Day Itinerary:

*Please note that this is a sample itinerary. All of the mentioned experiences will be included, but the dates and scheduling of these activities are subject to change.

Day 1 (Monday): Pick up at Jaipur Airport & Transfer to accommodation.

Upon your arrival at Jaipur International Airport, you will be picked up and transferred to your Jaipur volunteer accommodation. (Overnight in Jaipur)

Day 2 (Tuesday): Schedule's Briefing & Introduction to the volunteering project (B/D)

Today after breakfast you will spend the morning at your leisure as you get settled in to your new home for the next 2 weeks. In the afternoon you will attend an orientation session which will cover the following information:

  • India & its culture
  • Accommodation facilities
  • How to do volunteer work
  • Project activities
  • Cultural responsibility
  • Personal safety & Code of Conduct
  • Introduction to the volunteering project
  • Elementary Hindi lessons (onetime activity)

This should give you a good introduction to the volunteering project and also you’ll have time to plan the volunteering activities for the coming days. (Overnight in Jaipur)

Volunteer Projects:

There are volunteering possibilities in 4 categories:

  • Women's Empowerment
  • Childcare
  • Teaching
  • Orphan Care Home

Day 3 (Wednesday): Volunteer Project & Dinner with a Local Family (B/D)

Today you will begin your volunteer work as planned in yesterday's introduction briefing. In the evening, you will have the opportunity to visit and have dinner with a local host family, to learn about the local culture, and to taste its delicious traditional food. (Overnight in Jaipur).

Day 4 (Thursday): Volunteer Project & Henna painting session with Sari dressing workshop (B/L/D)

Today you will continue the volunteering project. In the evening you will have the opportunity to have a Henna painting session and a Sari dressing workshop, understanding these beautiful customs of Indian culture. (Overnight in Jaipur).

Day 5 (Friday): Volunteer Project (B/L/D)

Today you will continue with the volunteering project and have free time in the evening. (Overnight in Jaipur).

Day 6 (Saturday): Trip to Taj Mahal or free time (B/D)

Today you will begin your adventure with a transfer to the magical town of Agra, home of the world-famous Taj Mahal. You will have the breathtaking experience of seeing the majestic and marvellous Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983 for being "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage," and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is regarded by many as the best example of Mughal architecture and as the quintessential symbol of India's rich history. You will travel back to Jaipur tomorrow morning after spending the night in Agra. (Overnight in Agra)

You could also choose to have free time today and do the Taj Mahal trip tomorrow.

Day 7 (Sunday):  Free time or trip to Taj Mahal (B/D)

Have breakfast in Agra and return to Jaipur in the morning to spend your day exploring the beautiful streets, wandering the markets and soaking up all the city has to offer. It may also be a good chance to hang out with your other volunteer friends, reflecting on the highlights in the past week. (Overnight in Agra)

If you choose to take the Taj Mahal trip today, see the previous day’s itinerary.

Days 8 to 12 (Monday to Friday): Volunteer Project (5B/5L/5D)

Day 13 (Saturday): Pushkar Camel Safari (or Free Day) (B/L/D)

This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Pushkar, one of Rajasthan's greatest gems. Legend says that Lord Brahma (the creator of the world), in a search for his abode on earth, performed the supremely spiritual 'Vedic Yagna' at Pushkar. It is now the site of the only Brahma Temple in the world. Blessed with cultural blends, it is the venue for the famous Pushkar Fair, with people coming from all over Asia to buy and sell breeds of cattle from all across the world. Upon arrival in Pushkar you will take on another form of travel, ancient and far more suited to the desert: camels! Begin a camel safari atop the “ship of the desert,” going through sandy ravines and local villages where we can absorb the harsh-yet-colourful landscape of the Thar Desert. The safari concludes in a tent camp, where after sunset you can enjoy a clear view of the starlit night sky while having a delicious dinner. (Overnight in Pushkar tents.)

*Please Note: In case of rain you will spend the night in a guesthouse in Pushkar instead of in a tent.

Day 14 (Sunday): Free day (or Pushkar camel safari) - Return to Jaipur (B)

Have breakfast in Pushkar and return to Jaipur in the morning, to enjoy free time on your last day, buy your last souvenirs and enjoy some more delicious indian food. Bid farewell to this beautiful city and your new friends before a transfer to either Jaipur or Delhi International Airport. Please note: book your onward flight after 20.00 hours on Sunday.

If you choose to take the Pushkar Camel Safari trip today, see the previous day’s itinerary.
