Top 5 Cities to Visit in the USA — East Coast Edition

Nothing says summer like a quick road trip along the East Coast of the US. If you’re looking to “Party in the USA” then you won’t want to miss out on these five top American places and cities to visit around New England.

1. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The city of brotherly, or Philly as the locals call it, is filled with history and culture. It’s impossible not to run into a building or place tied to the revolution, independence, or civil war of the United States, from Independence Hall to the Liberty Bell, every street corner rings with American history. And don’t leave without eating a famous Philly cheesesteak! It is a must for any East Coast trip.

2. New York City, New York

When travelling to the East Coast, New York City should always be on your itinerary. It’s the birthplace of hip-hop, soul, and R&B. How could you miss the city that never sleeps? Not only that, but with over 8 million people living in the city, the hustle and bustle will make you feel like a real New Yorker in no time. Don’t forget to catch a show on Broadway, the Lion King is a favourite among tourists, but with so many amazing musicals you might have to see more than one!

3. Niagara Falls, New York

If you’re going to be in New York this summer, then you’ll definitely need a cool break from the hot and humid ambiance of the city. The city of Niagara Falls is literally made up of nothing but a continuous waterfall, there is something for everyone from the hurricane deck to glorious hiking trails. So jump in, pack your poncho  this summer because you won’t want to miss this refreshing splash of water!

4. Boston, Massachusetts

Boston is more than just a top-tier college town, it’s an up-and-coming East Coast city with a bustling nightlife and public space. Take a quick stroll through the Boston Public Garden, have a beer at a ball game at Fenway Park, or go shopping for some groceries at Quincy Market. At night, visit one of the many local breweries or dive bars that line the streets. Who knows, you might just run into the next Bill Gates. ;D

5. Portland, Maine

Last is Portland, and I am not talking about the uber hipster city of Portland, Oregon. I am talking about Portland, Maine, one of the oldest port cities in the country. Portland’s economy still heavily relies on the fishing industry so that pretty much means you’ll be eating the freshest lobster, clams, and oyster in the country. So don’t leave this fishy port city without eating a bowl of their famous clam chowder.
