4. Ballestas Islands |Peru Activities

Highlights:

Customers are picked up early in the morning (around 7:30 am) from the bus station or Hotel of their choice and then are transferred to the harbor where we will board our speedboat. The excursion lasts 2 hours, time in which passengers will enjoy and see many attractions. Among them, stands out a huge design etched on the slope of hill, known by the local people as The Candelabra.

This is an enormous figure that can be seen clearly from the sea. Our local guide will explain the most important theories concerning this drawing. Afterwards, we will continue our excursion around the Ballestas Islands, where you will see hundreds of birds flying (Peruvian Bobbies, Inca terms, Pelicans, Cormorants and others) above the Islands, as well as dozens of sea lions on the shore of the beaches, and if you are lucky you also can see the famous Humboldt Penguins and dolphins swimming nearby. It is not allowed to land on the Island, which means you will spend all the tour on the boat. The whole tour on the boat lasts about 2 hours.

5. Sand Boarding & Buggy Ride |Peru Activities

The tour guide will provide safe talking about Sandboard and Sandbuggy tour, how you need to use the boards and how to take care when you are in the boggies.

The tour begins driving over Sand dunes around the Oasis La Huacachina, the driver will drop you to the tops of the dunes, and on the summit of the dunes you can practice Sandboarding (downhill) on the hottest and amazing landscape of the Peruvian coast.

The tour over the dunes include many stops along the way, plenty time of practice Sandboarding and Dune Buggy, people don't need to be experienced, there are not any risky for beginners. We just recommend being fun people to get more fun on the middle of the desert of Ica. After 2 hours aprox. we return to the Oasis La Huacachina.

An impressive visit to the 100 km long and 3,191 meter deep Colca Canyon where you can observe local flora and fauna such as vicuña and Andean condors at the cliff edge overlooking the steep canyon walls. Dance with local women wearing exquisitely embroidered colorful clothing and listen to native flute music while enjoying Andean cuisine and tasting new unique flavors.

(Suggestions for Colca Canyon: The highest point of the trip is 4,910m and on average the other locations are approx. 3,800m. If you feel sick, it is a good idea to drink plenty of coca tea, chew coca candies or take altitude sickness medicine such as Sarochi or Diamox in extreme cases).

10. Cerro Rico Active Mines Day Trip|Bolivia Activities

Experience the interesting life of a modern miner by exploring an active mine.

Take a 3-hour tour to visit the local workers in the active mine of Cerro Rico (at 4,400m) and learn the history of Potosi which was built after the discovery of silver and other precious metals in the nearby mountains. You will learn about the grueling work and challenging way of life for the miners who live day-by-day trying to extract enough rock from the mine to provide a day's salary which does not always happen. Purchase gifts of dynamite, coca leaves, chocolates and beer to take to the miners you encounter on your tour and ask for a photograph of them in their working conditions.

12. Day Trip to Argentina Falls|Argentina or Brazil Activities

Highlights:

A visit to the Argentinean side of Iguazu Falls is a completely different experience than the Brazilian and deserves a whole day's worth of your time. Walk along the man-made platforms and bridges that follow the contours of the river taking you right up next to hundreds of waterfalls covering a 4 kilometer stretch.

Iguazu falls were created approximately 200 thousand years ago by a geological fault where the Iguazu and Parana Rivers come together creating an 80-meter high cascade named "Garganta del Diablo" or Devil's Throat. The falls stretch over 3 kilometers wide making them taller than Niagara Falls in North America and wider than Victoria Falls in Africa. The average flow of water passing over the falls is 1500 cubic meters per second and depending on the water levels you can observe anywhere from 160 - 260 falls. The intensity of the falls produces a permanent fog, where sunbeams form multiple rainbows of incredible beauty.
