Travel Safety

Your safety while travelling is our priority and we do everything in our power to make sure you have a safe trip so you can focus on enjoying every minute of it! Using common sense is the best way to ensure your own personal safety while travelling abroad. Nonetheless, here are few tips from seasoned travellers that can help make your trip go even smoother.

HELPFUL SAFETY TIPS TO REMEMBER WHILE TRAVELLING

Travel Visas & Information

Make sure you are familiar with the visa requirements for all of the countries you will travel to during your trip. Be aware that most countries require that your passport have at least 6 months validity and 2-3 empty pages before you reach the end of your trip. Depending on your nationality, some visas can be obtained upon arrival. However, it is very important to double check this information as it may change without prior notice. For the most up-to-date information on travel visas, contact the embassy nearest you directly.

Bamba recommends making scanned copies of all your important travel documents (passport, visas, student cards, insurance cards) and saving them to your email... just in case.

You will also want to take a moment before your trip to learn about the destinations you will be visiting. The following resources provide useful information on a variety of topics ranging from visa requirements, news and travel safety.

Travel Insurance

Bamba Experience highly recommends purchasing travel insurance for your trip especially when travelling in developing countries and discourages passengers to travel without travel insurance. Anything can happen, anytime whether you are at home or in a foreign country, so why take the chance? In the words of mothers across the world, “Better safe than sorry.” Spend a little more to make sure you’re covered if anything unexpected happens during your trip.

We recommend: World Nomads Travel Insurance

Staying Healthy While Travelling

Staying healthy while you travel can often be a challenge as you encounter new places with a wealth of diverse cultures, cuisines, altitudes, living conditions and cultures. Do a little research before you go, so you know what types of vaccinations are required for travel in the countries you will be visiting, what medications you should take with you in case you should get sick and what preventative measures you can take along the way.

The best way to prepare yourself for a trip abroad is to visit your doctor and/or travel clinic for a professional consultation. You should fill all necessary prescriptions to cover your trip and vaccinations required ahead of time.

Here are some websites that provide information and recommendations on how to stay healthy while travelling, however this information is not intended to be used in place of a  visit to a qualified medical professional or travel clinic.
