Overview:

Airport pick-up on Day 1 in Buenos Aires and free time to settle in. On Day 2 discover the beauty and wonders of Buenos Aires on a city tour and get in touch with the local night culture taking a Tango dance lesson, and admiring an authentic Tango Show accompanied with a delicious dinner. Fly to Ushuaia on Day 3, begin with a visit to Tierra del Fuego, and then navigate to a Sea Lion colony, before flying to El Calafate on Day 6. Spend 3 days visiting El Calafate and its natural beauties, experience the enormous Perito Moreno Glacier, and admire Torres del Paine. On Day 10 fly to Bariloche and get a taste of its northern Patagonian landscapes for 2 days before flying back to Buenos Aires on Day 13 to enjoy one last night in the country’s capital. Your trip ends on Day 14 with an airport drop-off after checkout.

 

Day by Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Buenos Aires Airport Pick-up

Today you will be met on arrival at the Buenos Aires Airport to be transferred to your accommodation for check-in. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to enjoy this lively town. Overnight in Buenos Aires.

 

Day 2: Buenos Aires City Tour - Tango Show & Dinner (B/D)

Discover the beauty and wonders of Buenos Aires on a morning or afternoon city tour that takes you around the city to see the highlights. View the National Congress, The Metropolitan Cathedral next to the Government House in May Square area. Admire the Colon Theater, one of the most important opera houses in Latin America. Visit San Telmo, traditional neighborhood where Tango performances can be seen in many bars and restaurants. Stop at La Boca colorful neighborhood, which was once the seat of immigrants - mainly Italians - and now home to local artists. Enjoy Palermo, an area that combines its architecture and history with entertainment and amusement in its green spaces. Finally, La Recoleta, an exclusive and elegant neighborhood where the famous cemetery is found. Although it may seem unusual, fashionable restaurants, bars, cafes, discos and a cinema complex also surround the area.

Tonight you will go to see an authentic Tango Show and dinner! The night starts with a tango lesson, where a professional instructor will teach you the traditional steps of this historically rich and sensual dance. Afterwards, you will enjoy a delicious traditional Argentinean dinner with an open bar while watching a thrilling and interactive Tango Show in an intimate setting. Once the show is over we will take you back to your hotel.

Tango is undeniably Buenos Aires' and Argentina's most recognized contribution to music. Its most famous melodies and the life of the Porteño (the traditional name for a Buenos Aires inhabitant) are impossible to separate. That is why we invite you to discover its essence and charm with us. Our course will cover the sounds and icons of the first black tangos in the 1850s, to the most modern expression of Argentina's popular culture and the people's renewed interest in tango in the streets today. Overnight in Buenos Aires.

 

Day 3: Flight Buenos Aires to Ushuaia (B)

Today you will be picked-up from your accommodation to be transferred to the airport and catch your flight to Ushuaia. On arrival you will be picked-up from the airport and transferred to your accommodation for check-in. Depending on your flight, if arriving early, the Sea Lion Colony Navigation can be done at 3:30 pm today, leaving day 5 as a free day. Overnight in Ushuaia.

 

Day 4: Full Day Tour to Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego with Trekking & Canoeing on Lapataia River (B/L)

Get ready to row and walk along thousand-year-old paths in the only Argentine National Park that combines sea, mountains and forests. Everything right there in front of your eyes.

After breakfast, you will get picked up from your hostel or hotel around 8:00 am and head to the national park by minibus. You will begin a 7-km trek, during which you will have the opportunity to admire the coast of the Beagle Channel, with incredible flora and fauna including red foxes, woodpeckers, steamer ducks, condors, eagles, beaver dams and peat bogs. All of this cohabiting in a spectacular setting. Along the way, you will also get to see traces of ancient Yámana settlements. After about 3 hours of hiking, we will arrive to Lago Roca and have a repairing hot lunch (included). Then, you will have the chance to canoe down the beautiful Lapataia river until reaching Lapataia Bay. Walking and rowing, you get right into this beautiful region and you experience it from up close. By combining any of these activities, you can see by yourself the imposing variety and quantity of animal species, plants and landscapes. You will be back in Ushuaia around 5:00 pm. You will be dropped off at your accommodation. Overnight in Ushuaia.

 

Day 5: Sea Lion Colony Half Day Navigation (B)

Breakfast. At 9:30 am you will leave the local port and go to Alice Island to see the colony of sea lions. Afterwards you will continue to the Birds Island where inhabit the king and imperial cormorants. Nearby, you will see the Rock Cormorants on the cliffs. Then, you navigate towards the Sea Lions Island where you will have the opportunity to see them and also fur seals. Finally, you find “Les Eclaireurs lighthouse”, which was built in 1919 and is the actual symbol of the city. Return back to Ushuaia around lunch time and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Ushuaia.

 

Day 6: Flight Ushuaia to El Calafate (B)

Enjoy breakfast at your accommodation and take a transfer to the airport to catch your flight to El Calafate. On arrival you will be transferred to your new accommodation for check-in. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to settle-in and overnight.

 

Day 7: Perito Moreno Glacier Full Day Tour (B)

Have breakfast and depart El Calafate around 8 or 9 am for your Perito Moreno Glacier Full Day Tour (tour departure time can change due to weather conditions or summer/winter timetable). People from all over the world come to this remote place in Southern Patagonia to be a witness of the Ice Age. This is one of the only moving glaciers in the planet which makes this visit not only worth it, but a MUST. Enjoy the landscape, the nature, the fauna and the wide variety of birds of the region throughout the day. We will visit the Perito Moreno Glacier from different viewpoints and from different altitudes. We return to El Calafate around 5:30 pm. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure and overnight.

 

Day 8: Torres del Paine Full Day Tour (only from September to March) OR Cerro Frias 4x4 Adventure (from April to August) (B)

Torres del Paine Full Day Tour (only from September to March):

Have breakfast and depart El Calafate around 5:30 am for your Torres del Paine Full Day Tour. We arrive at the Chilean border around 10:00 am and make the customs procedures. Then we make a stop in "Cerro Castillo" town. At 11:00 am we continue on to the Lago Sarmiento, where we will stop for a little bit to take photographs and enjoy the amazing landscape. Later, we arrive at Laguna Amarga and pay the entrance to the Torres del Paine National Park. We go on to the Nordenskjol Lake, from where we can admire the imposing sight of Cuernos del Paine. Once we arrive at Pudeto we visit the Salto Grande waterfall and do a short trek. At 17:00 pm we leave the National Park and make stops at viewpoints from where we can admire the beautiful "Paine Range". We arrive at Castillo Hill around 18:00 pm and make the return trip to El Calafate, arriving there around 10:30 pm. 

Cerro Frias 4x4 Adventure (from April to August):

Breakfast. Today you will be picked up from your accommodation and transferred to Estancia Alice, the starting point of your Cerro Frias 4x4 adventure. The journey will begin by crossing a scenic meadow and climbing into the foothills of the mountain. Very quickly we will begin glimpsing stunning, panoramic views of the beautiful Centinela Valley and Torres del Paine. Upon reaching the top, you will find yourself among cows, guanacos, hares and wild horses. The scenery from this vantage point is pristine and breathtaking, with views of Lake Argentino and mountain landscapes. From here we will descend and journey back to El Calafate, beholding beech forests, a vibrant sunset, and amazing flora and fauna along the way.

Note: Wear comfortable shoes because we will be doing some walking.

Day 9: Free Day in El Calafate (B)

Today have breakfast at your accommodation and enjoy a full free day in El Calafate to stroll the streets of its historic town and see traditional buildings. Overnight in El Calafate.

 

Day 10: Flight El Calafate to Bariloche (B)

After enjoying breakfast at your accommodation you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight to Bariloche. On arrival you will be picked-up and transferred to your new accommodation for check-in. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure discovering this beautiful lakeside town. Overnight in Bariloche.

 

Day 11: Mt. Campanario & Circuito Chico Half Day Excursion (B)

Have breakfast at your accommodation and then depart at 9:00 am on a Mount Campanario and Circuito Chico Half Day Excursion. The tour starts in Bariloche along Bustillo Avenue with an amazing view of Lake Nahuel Huapi. Right at KM8 on the highway you will find Playa Bonita, from where you can see Huemul Island. Later on, after crossing different landscapes, you will arrive at the bottom of Mt. Campanario. There is a chairlift that visitors can use to reach the top of the hill at 1500m at an extra cost. There is a tearoom at the top and also a terrace where you can admire one of the most complete and beautiful views of northern Patagonia. Returning to the tour along Bustillo Avenue, the bus continues to San Pedro Peninsula. At KM23 of Bustillo Avenue you will reach Villa Llao Llao, site of the San Eduardo Chapel, a jewel of regional architecture where stands the magnificent Llao Llao Hotel. From there the route goes through the Llao Llao Peninsula. After bordering Lake Escondido at KM33, the road passes over Narrow Bridge Creek, that separates the Moreno Lake from Nahuel Huapi Lake. At KM40 you will reach the famous Panoramic Point at 945m high, where you can appreciate the majesty of the landscape that makes up Lake Moreno and Llao Llao Peninsula. You will be back to Bariloche at 12:30pm. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon to relax and taste some delicious southern argentinian food. Overnight in Bariloche.

 

Day 12: "Tronador Multitrek" OR "Isla Victoria & Arrayanes Forest Boat" Excursion (on request & depending on weather conditions) (B)

Tronador Multitrek Excursion:

It starts from Bariloche around 9:00am. Heading south along route 40 through lakes Gutierrez and Mascardi, it then goes into the southern part of the Nahuel Huapi National Park. The first stop is the path that leads to the Laguna Los Moscos where you will hike during approx. 1 hour. You will pass by a road of incredible vegetation that leads to the viewpoint of Lake Los Moscos.

Then continue your route with the mini bus for the second hike to the Caesars waterfall. It will take around 1 hour and 30 minutes walk and you will enjoy one of the most beautiful places in the National Park with its lookouts and waterfalls.

On the way back, the vehicle will continue along the valley of the river which borders Vuriloches to appreciate the gentle presence of Mount Tronador (the highest in the area with 3,554 mts.) with glaciers descending down its slopes.

You will make a stop at Pampa Linda for lunch (not included) and then continue to the Black Glacier, the only Black Glacier in Patagonia, where you will have another walk to the lookout (20min approx.) and enjoy the Glacier uniqueness. You will return to Bariloche arriving around 7:30 pm.

Isla Victoria and Arrayanes Forest Boat Excursion:

It is the traditional excursion of Nahuel Huapi National Park. You will sail from Puerto Pañuelo and after an hour navigation, arrive at Quetrihue Peninsula, where you will admire the magnificence of the only Arrayanes forest in the world.

Walking through a decked path you will have the opportunity to see centennial trees.

From a botanical point of view, the Arrayan is a plant classified as a bush which only grows like a tree in this area. It has a cinnamon color with a thin bark which upon coming off, leaves white spots which give this tree its unique look.

Then you go sailing to Victoria Island on a 40 min. trip, and arrive at Puerto Anchorena. There you will visit a coniferous nursery, walking through paths and natural viewpoints where you will have the opportunity to admire the beauty of the place. One of the paths leads to Playa del Toro, a volcanic sand beach where cave paintings can be seen. Along this walk your National Park guides will show you and inform you of every detail related to this excursion.

 

Day 13: Flight Bariloche to Buenos Aires (B)

Enjoy one last breakfast in southern Argentina before being transferred to the airport to catch your return flight to Buenos Aires. Transfer to your new accommodation on arrival and enjoy free time to buy some last souvenirs and have some delicious traditional Choripan or Empanadas. Overnight in Buenos Aires.

 

Day 14: Buenos Aires Airport Drop-off (B)

After breakfast, depending on your outbound flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport, where this amazing adventure will come to an end.
