Day 5 (Friday): Volunteer Project & McLeod Ganj Tour (B/L/D)

Today the program will start with an introductory visit to the volunteer project to start working and to plan the volunteering activities for the coming days.

After lunch drive to McLeod Ganj, home of the seat of Tibetan Government in exile, and a natural wonderland. Here you will experience Tibetan culture merged into Indian context with great scenery and weather. McLeodGanj is a suburb of Dharamshala in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is known as "Little Lhasa" or "Dhasa" because of its large population of Tibetans. Here you will visit the Bhagsunath Temple & Waterfall. It is a tranquil medieval temple with many pools, considered sacred by Hindu devotees.

Later on, you will visit the ethnic local market of McLeodGanj, followed by a visit to the Dalai Lama Temple. The temple is the lifeblood of the town, housing the Namgyal Monastery and shrine rooms. The largest shrine contains a huge gilded statue of the Buddha, along with two smaller statues of Chenrezig and Guru Rinpoche. The Dalai Lama himself often visits this monastery to preach.

Overnight in McLeod Ganj.
